Edge - Sharpest knife I've ever used, other than a scalpel. Hasn't needed a touch up in 10 months of light to moderate use. Steel - seems tough, but hard to say for sure because I love it too much to mistreat it. VG-10 certainly has a good rep online. As it's carbon steel I recommend keeping it oiled with paraffin, which is cheap to pick up from a pharmacist or supermarket. Paraffin is perfect for knives as it's the only oil that's both food safe (unlike machine oils), and won't go rancid/gummy (unlike vegetable/olive/canola oil). Handle - simple, comfortable. Secure locking mechanism with a nice 'snap' into place. Pocket clip is strong, and I easily repositioned mine with a minuscule Torx (just took the knife into Bunnings and they found the right one). Overall - extremely sharp, great product, would buy again. Just be aware that it might raise some eyebrows - the spyderco form factor is quite 'tactical' or 'aggressive' for EDC (as compared to a bone-handled 'gentleman's knife' or a swiss army knife).

Disclaimer - have only had the knife for a fortnight or so, and I haven't put it through tough use. Arrived shaving sharp - in fact, it's sharper than anything else I've bought. VG-10 seems like a high quality steel. Very sturdy locking mechanism. Feels nice in the hand, and the clip is adjustable to attach on either side, facing either direction - you'll just need some incredibly tiny Torx drivers. If you're in the market for a good quality folder I can't fault this one so far.
